I have been doing photography for a little over a year and the learning curve in photography is steep and rough. There are many things that make a photograph unique and special and one of those techniques is composition. Placing the subject in the right angle can make all the difference. Below are a few shots that I took that are good examples of composition. The following 3 tips can help you the next time you shoot create a unique look to your photo by taking the shot at a different angle. Use your surroundings and take many shots to have the best one shown.
The above are some examples of my beginning work. The composition is almost zero and they are "typical shots" that anyone would take. When I began taking shots, i would just take any shot without actually thinking of placement or providing the viewer a different angle...
Tip 1. offer curiosity
The above shot uses the parking line to run through and creates curiosity with the viewer. You always want to create that question mark to they are drawn to wonder what else there is. Contrast is also well balanced.
tip 2. placement of subject
The two above have two drastic composed angles, one has many lines, the other uses a well placed lower silhouette that is contrast to the Sunlight.
tip 3. proportion of the subject
this shot definitely makes you wonder what else there is. These three palm trees provide a placid feeling with a nice big blue sky. The colors are nice and vivid and would make a great wallpaper. The proportion of the size of the palm trees to the sky makes the viewer wonder how many more there are.
I hope these three tips have helped you wonder how else you can use placement of your subject to improve your photography.
